In the Rare Oliveburst Finish

This superb featherweight guitar weighs just 5.60 lbs. and has a single-bound laminated maple body with a medium profile one-piece mahogany neck and a standard Gibson scale length of 24 3/4 inches. The width at the nut is just over 1 11/16 inches and the bound Brazilian rosewood fretboard has 22 original jumbo frets and pearl dot postion markers. Short headstock with inlaid pearl "Epiphone" script logo. Three-layer (black/white/black) plastic truss-rod cover. Serial number ("40261") impressed into the back of the headstock. Rectangular blue label inside the bass f-hole with "E-230-T" and "Casino" and the serial number ("40261") stamped in black. Individual single-line Kluson Deluxe tuners with white plastic oval buttons stamped "D-169400/Patent No." on the underside. One very hot P-90 pickup with an output of 7.79k. Three-layer (white/black/white) plastic pickguard with mounted silver and black Epiphone stylized "E" logo. Two controls (one volume, one tone) on lower treble bout. Black plastic bell-shaped knobs with metal tops. ABR-1 Tune-O-Matic non-retainer bridge with metal saddles and factory Epiphone vibrato unit. Apart from a very minor and professionally repaired split to the left-hand seam on the headstock (otherwise it would have been a 9.00), this guitar is remarkably fresh and clean. Housed in a modern TKL black hardshell case with deep red plush lining (9.50).

This is not only one of the earliest Casinos, but is also in the rather rare Oliveburst finish, and has the Epiphone vibrato, which was not in fact offered until 1962. The Casino was discontinued in 1970.

Introduced in 1961, this was Epiphone's $335.00 version of the highly popular Gibson ES-330. John Lennon played Epiphone Casinos, rather than the Gibson equivalent.

It was really annoying that

It was really annoying that most of the guitars I was interested in and clicked on your site were already marked "SOLD."  It's gotten me frustrated and I emidiately moved on from your site to gbase to make my purchase of an Epiphone Casino.
