A Fine and Original 1964 SG Standard With a Medium-to-Thin Neck Profile.

This forty-six year old SG Standard with a solid Honduras mahogany body weighs just 6.70 lbs. One-piece mahogany neck with a medium-to-thin profile, Brazilian rosewood fretboard with 22 original frets and pearl crown position markers. Individual single-line Kluson Deluxe tuners with double-ring tulip-shaped Keystone plastic buttons. Two patent-number humbucking pickups with outputs of 7.62k and 7.54k. Five-layer plastic pickguard with six screws. Four controls (two volume, two tone) plus three-way selector switch, all on lower treble bout. ABR-1 Tune-O-Matic bridge and Maestro Deluxe Vibrola tailpiece. All hardware nickel-plated. The back of the neck is slightly faded and there is a miniscule amount of belt buckle scarring on the back of the guitar, some slight finish checking and a few small surface marks on the edges. This is a totally original example in exceptionally fine (9.00) condition. Original Gibson five-latch "Faultless" black hardshell case with orange plush lining (9.00) This example is from arguably the best year of the "original style" SG Standards and has the great advantage of the far superior Gibson "Deluxe Vibrola".
