Terry McInturff built his first guitar in 1977 …a set neck double-cut that featured an unusual (for the time) scale length of 25.125”. It proved to be the original prototype for what became an entire line of McInturff guitars. Terry went on to obtain full-time employment as a luthier in January 1978, and guitars have paid his bills ever since. Along the way, Terry has installed an estimated 180,000 guitar strings, has worked on and or built over 40,000 stringed instruments, and has …somehow… managed to stay somewhat sane in the process. While it is commonplace for luthiers of Terry’s ability to use only the finest tonewoods from around the world, it is really Terry’s unique design methodologies and acclaimed handskills that have netted his work rave reviews in virtually all of the guitar magazines that matter. He has been featured on the covers of Guitar Player and Guitarist magazines, interviewed on National Public Radio, has been awarded two Guitar Player Magazine “Editor’s Pick Awards” and has a client list that includes Eric Clapton, Jimmy Page, Brad Whitford, Brad Delson, Audley Freed, David Hidalgo, Chuck Garvey, Marshall Crenshaw, and many others.

"I've grown TCM Guitars Inc. from the ground up. I am currently in my 33rd year as a full-time guitar designer/builder. During this time I have become intimately familiar with the rarified world and small community that constitutes the ultra high-end world of electric guitars. In addition to managing my company and indeed personally building custom TCM product, I also offer guitar-production-oriented consultation services that are geared towards any client's specific needs. In this regard I am very humbled by the fact that Ive had very rewarding relationships with firms both huge and smaller."

David Thomas McNaught Guitars is a one-man shop located in Locust, North Carolina. All designs, woodworking, inlays, and paint work are done in-house by David McNaught. "In a market saturated with custom built instruments, and a market consumed with competitively priced products, it can be at times confusing to differentiate the true from the blue. The Mcnaught Phoenix is a no nonsense, no compromise, serious guitar, that is really geared for the serious player or collector." This guitar exudes sheer beauty, superb craftsmanship, great playability and a wonderful wide range of sounds… David McNaught's clients include John 5, Matt Pike, John Schaffer, Tim Suld, Neil Fallon & Neal Schon amongst many other hard-rock and metal guitarists.
