"Bora Bora Blue"

1999 Tom Anderson Hollow Cobra.

This Tom Anderson Hollow Cobra guitar weighs just 6.80 lbs. Two-piece flamed maple top with flamed maple binding. Blue stained chambered and contoured mahogany body. One-piece 'satin' mahogany neck with a nut width of just over 1 11/16 inches and a medium profile. Matching blue stained headstock with "A" in yellow and "Tom Anderson / Guitar Works" decal in white. Individual Grover 'Rotomatic' tuners with oval metal buttons. 'Slab'' rosewood fretboard with 22 original medium-jumbo frets, clay dot position markers and white dot side markers. Four-bolt neckplate with "Made in California" and serial number "4-14-99A" etched between the lower two screws. One Anderson H-1 (exposed) humbucker in the neck position and one Anderson HN-3+ (exposed) humbucker in the bridge position. Cream plastic pickup surrounds. Two controls (one volume, one tone with push/pull splitter) + five-way pickup selector switch (with conical cream plastic tip) on treble face of body. 'Short' Telecaster style chrome knobs with domed tops and knurled sides. Anderson non-tremolo fixed bridge with six individually adjustable metal saddles. Side-mounted jack input. This fine guitar is in mint (9.50) condition. Housed in the original "G & G" three-latch, rectangular black hardshell case with black leather ends and black plush lining (9.50).

A classic shape with thoroughly modern features and electronics. The slightly shorter scale length and fixed bridge aid playability, and the H1 and H3 pickups offer not only great humbucking sounds, but some of the best split coil sounds we've ever heard! The push/pull tone knob allows for combinations of both pickups in either split or humbucking mode.

H-1: The perfect neck pickup to balance with full, throaty neck humbuck tones that are never bloated, open, clear and rich—splits really well. Also, great as a neck pickup to balance with the HN-series pickups in the bridge position.

HN-3+: The next step up from the HN3 with a bit more gain and smooth saturation—while still remaining very harmonically rich.

Tom Anderson guitars are played by a myriad of great players including Brad Whitford, Carlos Santana, Don Felder, Frankie Sullivan, Glenn Frey, Greg Lake, Justin Hayward, Keith Richards, Kirk Hammet, Martin Barre, Richie Sambora, Steve Miller, Steve Vai, Ted Nugent and Vivian Campbell…
