The Favorite of Many Great Jazz Guitarists…

Inspired by James D'Aquisto, Linda Manzer's JazzCAT features a single Venetian (round) cutaway with a wonderful 'Honey-Tangerine Burst' finish. This 17-inch-wide, three inch deep jazz guitar weighs just 5.60 lbs. Two-piece aged German Spruce top, European, highly flamed curly maple two-piece back and flamed European maple sides with two modern "JazzCAT" sound holes. Seven-ply binding on top and back. One-piece European curly maple neck with a scale length of 25 1/4 inches, a nut width of just under 1 3/4 inches and a really fast medium-to-thin neck profile. Unique 'Manzer' shaped peghead featuring "Manzer" inlaid in abalone on a beveled veneer of ebony over maple. Bell shaped ebony truss-rod cover with single screw. Individual Schaller 'Rotomatic' tuners with half-moon black metal buttons. Ebony fretboard with 22 jumbo frets and small pearl side dot markers. Single Kent Armstrong "floating" side-mount humbucking pickup with twelve individually adjustable pole pieces with an output of 8.41k. Carved ebony pickguard (side mounted to the treble side of the neck with two screws) with one volume and one tone control with black plastic 'rotary' knobs with 'ribbed' edges, mounted underneath. Pre-compensated, height-adjustable ebony bridge on ebony base. Specific 'hinged' ebony tailpiece affixed to edge of body with two screws and pickup jack input. Bass side sound hole with small rectangular white label with LINDA MANZER / Toronto  Canada, signed "L.Manzer" in blue ink (the right side of the label has been worn away). Linda Manzer has also signed her full name in blue ink on the inside of the body. This guitar is in mint (9.50) condition. Housed in it's original Calton Deluxe five-latch shaped green fibreglass hardshell case with serial number "4061" on small metal plate and cream plush lining (9.25).

The JazzCAT "floating" side-mount style humbucker pickup is specially designed and made by Kent Armstrong and is the standard for jazz guitar. Twelve individually adjustable pole pieces make this a very versatile pickup, giving better magnetic balance between the two coils, more power and complete shielding. The result is a slender suspended pickup that produces all the rich, full and warm sound of a built-in PAF design…

"Each Manzer guitar is hand constructed by Linda, using only the finest materials available - spruce, cedar, rosewood, maple, ebony and mahogany - all matched to create the structural harmony and specific tonal qualities of a one-of-a-kind instrument. Careful attention goes into every detail to ensure outstanding sound - from the tuning of the tops before and after they are installed, to the use of split billets of wood wherever possible."
