An Absolutely Mint 1999 Hamer Echotone with Aztec Gold Flame Top - Under-the-Bed for Twenty-Three Years…

1999 Hamer (Korea) Echotone '335'

This twenty-three year old, under-the-bed '335' style guitar weighs just 8.20 lbs. and features a single bound sixteen-inch wide, just over one and three-quarter inch thick laminated maple body with a maple central block. One-piece maple neck with a nut width of just under 1 11/16 inches, a special to this model 25 1/4 scale length and a very comfortable medium profile. Black-faced headstock with "Hamer" in white. Three-layer, black over white plastic truss-rod cover secured by two screws. Serial number "1701147" on back of headstock. Individual 'Roto-Matic' style tuners with half-moon metal buttons. Rosewood fretboard with 22 original jumbo frets and white dot inlays. Two Duncan Designed Humbucking pickups with outputs of 7.50k and 15.80k. Three layer, black over white plastic pickguard. Four controls (two volume, two tone) plus three-way pickup selector switch. Gold plastic bell-shape control knobs. 'Nashville' style Tune-O-Matic bridge with metal saddles and stud tailpiece. All hardware gold-plated. This guitar is as new (9.50++) condition and is housed in a black padded gig-bag (9.50)

The Hamer Echotone was basically a version of the semi-hollowbody Gibson ES-335. With a glued-in neck, the Echotone had bound solid maple top and back with bound f-holes. The 22-fret fingerboard was bound rosewood with dots. Twin humbuckers, three-way, two volumes and two tones, finetune bridge, stop tailpiece and elevated black laminated pickguard completed the picture. (Vintage Guitar Magazine)
