Gibson's Classic Archtop -- New Again

1999 Gibson ES-135 Limited Edition

This featherweight classic archtop guitar weighs just X.XX lbs. and has a 16 inch wide, just under 2 1/4 inch deep, 'double-bound' laminated maple body with two 'f' holes edged in white. Three-piece maple neck with a nut width of 1 11/16 inches, a standard Gibson scale length of 24 3/4 inches and a medium-to-thick profile. Rosewood fretboard with 22 original jumbo frets and inlaid pearl dot position markers. Black-faced headstock with gold "Gibson" & "ES-135" logos. Two-layer black over white plastic truss-rod cover secured by two screws. Individual Grover Roto-Matic tuners with tulip-shaped metal buttons. Serial number "91179435" stamped in blind and oval gold with black outline "Limited Edition" logo on back of headstock. Two Gibson PAF '57-style humbuckers with outputs of 8.05k and 8.36K. Five-layer black over white plastic pickguard secured by two screws. Four controls (two volume, two tone) on lower treble bout, plus three-way pickup selector switch on upper bass bout. Black plastic barrel-shape "Speed" knobs. 'Nashville' ABR-1 bridge. Trapeze tailpiece with raised diamond on cross-bar. Inside the bass 'f; hole is the Gibson white oval label with the serial number "91179435" and the model "ES-135" written in black ink. All hardware gold plated. This one-owner guitar is in mint (9.50) condition. Housed in the original Gibson four-latch brown hardshell case with burgundy plush lining and red silk liner (9.50).

The Gibson ES-135 is a sort of crossover between the ES-335 and the es-175, combining the classic shape of the ES-175 with the thin body of the ES-335.
