An Incredibly Rare Series One Epiphone Crestwood!

This incredibly rare guitar, which is like a cross between a Telecaster and a Les Paul SG Standard, weighs just 7.50 lbs., with a nice fat nut width of 1 11/16 inches and a standard Gibson scale length of 24 3/4 inches. Solid mahogany body, one-piece mahogany neck, and rosewood fretboard with 22 medium jumbo frets and inlaid pearl dot position markers. Metal "Epiphone" headstock logo plate. Individual Kluson Deluxe tuners with later single-ring Keystone plastic buttons. Two patent number mini-humbucker pickups with outputs of 7.82k and 7.03k. Three-layer (white/black/white) "batwing" pickguard with silver Epiphone stylized "E" logo. Four controls (two volume, two tone) plus three-way selector switch. Jack socket on side of guitar. Black plastic knobs with ribbed sides and metal tops. ABR-1 Tune-O-Matic retainer bridge with separate stud tailpiece. All hardware nickel-plated. At one time, this guitar had a vibrato, which has since been taken off, and as a result, there are three holes on the top of the guitar, one in front of and two behind the stud tailpiece. There is some slight edge wear, and the plating on the stud tailpiece is somewhat worn, otherwise the condition of this super rare guitar is quite exceptional. Housed in its original Epiphone pale beige and brown leather softshell case with brown velvet lining (8.50)

This guitar, in a wonderful two-tone Sunburst, is the only Series One Epiphone Crestwood we've ever seen, and it sounds absolutely amazing! Introduced in 1958, this is the last year that they made this shape: 1 3/4 inch thick body with squared edges. In 1959, the Crestwood was renamed the Crestwood Custom, with a 1 3/8 inch deep body with rounded edges.
