An Original 1950 Fender "TV Front" Tweed DeLuxe…

This is an all original 12 watt tweed "TV Front" cabinet tube combo legend weighing just 26 lbs. The solid pine cabinet measures 18 inches wide x 16 1/4 inches high. The depth of the cabinet is 7 1/2 inches at the top expanding to 9 1/2 inches at the bottom. One twelve-inch Jensen Alnico 5 PM "Concert Series" Speaker with stamped code: "220-037" (Jensen 37th week of 1950), top control panel, two instrument inputs and one microphone input, one volume knob, one tone knob, tweed covering, dark brown mohair grill cloth. The serial number "2376" is written in blue ink on the tube chart. The tweed covering is almost as new and the original leather handle has virtually no wear. Complete with the original cloth cover. A wonderful little fifty-nine-year old legend… just turn it up for real tube gain at a reasonable volume.

The Fender Deluxe Amp, model 5B3, received a cosmetic makeover in 1952. The new style cabinet is often referred to as the “wide panel” cabinet. The 5B3 circuit in the wide panel cabinet only lasted until mid-1954, after which the 5C3 circuit emerged. The 5C3 differed from its predecessor by virtue of a negative feedback loop which the 5B3 lacked.
